Location
As Hungary's second largest city, Debrecen is the cultural, scientific, economic and commercial centre of Eastern Hungary and is situated 37 km from the Hortobágy Puszta, a World Heritage site. The 3-star Grand Hotel Aranybika is located in the heart of Debrecen, next to the Reformed Cathedral. The present Art Nouveau building was built in 1915 according to the design of Alfréd Hajós, Hungary's first Olympic Champion.
Grand Hotel Aranybika Access:
- By car: from Budapest using the M3 motorway and then by main road M35. Distance: 220 km (2,5 hours).
- By rail: on Inter-city trains (approx. 2,5 hours journey, trains depart every 2 hours from the Eastern Railway Station). Travel from the railway station to the hotel directly by tram (3 stops) or by taxi (5 minutes).
- By air: from Debrecen airport by taxi or transfer provided on request (15 minutes).
